Collect, verify and analyse data for better conflict and disaster reporting. Today's technology allows us to gather and investigate on the ground reports of conflict and disasters without physically entering into the field. Growing access to diverse data types, including GIS, meteorological and crowdsourced data, allows us to visualise and inspect situational updates. But what are risks journalists need to bear in mind when using different types of data and technology-supported tools? How can journalists be better prepared before unexpected events occur? And how can we effectively use these new tools for better fact-finding and reporting on these types of events?
